Sensei Stomberg has been at this a long time. She started martial arts at the age of four, here in Norwich with Grandmaster Mike Bogdanski. How many of us can say we've been training for over 85% of our lives? When I moved to town in 2002 and took over the school, she started taking classes with me. I was twenty-four and had almost a decade's worth of hair left.
Boy, that was a different time. We were a traditional Tang Soo Do school in 2002. When she started, classes were taught in Korean and everyone wore white. Though she was on the edge of being in the kids class, I allowed a then thirteen year-old Kayla Fritz to join the adult class due to her previous experience. Soon after, she won the first-ever Student Of The Year Award (and maybe last ever, because I don't think we continued the practice long after that.)
Last, and best: Sensei Stomberg is still with us in Norwich. She's moving twenty minutes up the road, so we'll get to see her whenever we want. She'll be in Norwich sometimes, and we can visit her in Colchester. Sensei Stomberg's move to Colchester is not anyone's loss; it's everyone's gain.
